Jordyn Woods Is Going on Red Table Talk — Here's How She Knows Will and Jada Pinkett Smith
Jordyn Woods has known the Smith family longer than she knew the Kardashians
Jordyn Woods and the Smith family go way back.
On Friday, Woods will give her first in-person interview since she made headlines last week on Jada Pinkett Smith‘s Red Table Talk Friday, in which Woods will presumably address her alleged affair with Khloé Kardashian‘s then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson.
So how did Woods connect with Pinkett Smith for the interview?
“We met through a mutual friend. She’s known Jaden like her whole life,” Jenner explained in a YouTube video over the summer. “I met him in middle school and they were best friends, they still are.”
After Jaden suggested Jenner invite Woods over to hang out, the two became instant friends.
“You put your name in my phone with a purple heart and I still have a purple heart in my phone,” added Jenner, 21.
Woods also refers to Will Smith as her “uncle.” Her late father, John Woods, worked in the television business as a sound engineer and reportedly met the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star through work. (John died of cancer in January 2017.)
In 2014, she posted a throwback photo of herself as a child with Smith in celebration of his birthday.
“Happy birthday to a man who has greatly impacted my life,” she wrote. “Love you uncle willy.”
Will has also given Woods a sweet shoutout on his account. Last year, for Jaden’s 20th birthday, he posted a photo of his son as a little boy, dressed in Spider-Man costume and hanging out with Woods.
“Happy Bday, Jaden. 20 Years Old ~ WHOA!” the actor wrote. “And Wait… I don’t know what the big deal was when you wore a White Batman Suit to Prom? You have ALWAYS worn superhero suits on your dates!”
In 2016, Woods referred to both Jaden and Jenner as “family” while celebrating the launch of her clothing line collaboration with U.K. company Boohoo.
“A couple of my friends I’ve known since I was an infant and others I met as a teenager, but we’re more of a family now,” she told WWD.com of Jenner and Jaden supporting her at the party. “I don’t really consider them “friends” anymore because they’re like family.”
Woods’ relationship with Jenner has been strained since news broke that the model allegedly hooked up with her sister Khloé Kardashian’s ex.
“Kylie still seems torn,” a source told PEOPLE on Monday. “It’s going to be very difficult for her to cut Jordyn completely out of her life.”
And while Woods has made numerous attempts to apologize since news of the cheating scandal broke, what she’s telling the Kardashians allegedly isn’t consistent.
“Her story keeps changing a bit, and it’s almost like she is digging herself deeper,” a source previously told PEOPLE. “It’s been a week now of nonsense explaining from her side. Everyone thinks she wanted to hook up with Tristan and she just didn’t think she was gonna get caught.”
Woods’ rep is not commenting, and reps for Kardashian and Thompson have not responded to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.
The interview with Pinkett Smith will presumably mark Woods’ first official, in-depth comments about the scandal. But a source previously told PEOPLE that she could be in more hot water because she signed an “ironclad NDA” with the family.
“She can’t talk about the family, so it’s unclear what she’s going to be able to say to Jada,” the source explained. “She can apologize but can’t talk about anything really beyond that in terms of the family.”
The source added that “the Kardashians are feeling 100 percent done with Jordyn” and that they’re “pissed” that Woods may try to make amends during her public appearance on the show.
“They’re saying she should’ve reached out directly, but she did,” the source said. “They were just too pissed to listen to her or pay any attention. On the flip side, if she says anything except ‘I’m sorry’ or tries to trash Tristan, that’s going to push Khloé back to him and destroy Jordyn. “
