Jonathan Cheban Leaves U.K. Celebrity Big Brother, Citing Concerns for His 'Mental Stability'
Jonathan Cheban has left the building.
“Jonathan Cheban has decided to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House,” a spokesperson for the U.K.’s Chanel 5, which airs the show, tells PEOPLE in a statement.
His exit will air on Tuesday’s episode in the U.K.
The move comes after Cheban complained in Saturday’s episode of the British reality show that he was feeling “a little bit edgy and claustrophobic” living in the CBB home.
“There is a point where my mental stability is more important than entertaining,” he said in the diary room.
The producers of Celebrity Big Brother also dealt with a tragic situation Monday, informing Angie Bowie, the first wife of David Bowie, that her former husband had died of cancer. She had been unaware of the music icon’s death as stars of the show are not allowed contact with the outside world while filming.
“Following the very sad news of David Bowie’s death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives,” Channel 5 said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.
She will remain on the show.
