"This was is greatest joy about this year's prank is that we alternate and I robbed you of the joy," John Krasinski told Jimmy Kimmel
John Krasinski, you just got nogg’d.
Christmas is right around the corner, and that means holiday traditions are in full swing. And perhaps the most entertaining tradition of them all is the long-running Christmas prank war between Jimmy Kimmel and Krasinski.
The war has been going for nearly four years, and this season was supposed to be Kimmel’s turn to mess with the Office star – that is until Krasinski decided to pull the ultimate prank by hijacking the tradition and flipping the script.
“This is greatest joy about this year’s prank is that we alternate and I robbed you of the joy,” Krasinski said during an appearance Tuesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
On the show, the actor, 36, reviewed all of the ways in which he stole Kimmel’s Christmas cheer in 2015.
The first included a NSFW Santa spotting from outside of Kimmel’s office window.
And if seeing Santa wasn’t enough, Krasinski arranged for one of his helpers to pay a visit to Kimmel as well. A reindeer was hidden in the late-night host’s bathroom.
“I am not going in this room, I don’t know what’s in here,” Kimmel, 48, said as he nervously stood outside the makeshift reindeer pen. “It smells weird though.”
When he opened the door, Kimmel burst out laughing at the sight of his “gift.”
“Enough already!” he said.
But Krasinski still wasn’t done. He took the series of pranks to the next level when he turned Kimmel’s office into a winter wonderland – complete with snow, polar bear statues and lots of presents. Hiding inside a nutcracker costume, the actor jumped out to scare Kimmel and cover him in fake snow.
“Still fake snow in my office,” Kimmel said after the two watched the clip.
And while Kimmel couldn’t help but congratulate Krasinski for a job well done on the pranks, he wasn’t about to surrender his turn that easily. Kimmel got back at the actor by posting Krasinski’s home address on a “celebrity yard sale” sign all over Los Angeles telling fans to arrive at 6 a.m.
“The good news is, you’re going to have an early morning tomorrow,” Kimmel laughed as Krasinski sat silent in shock (and probably a little fear for the hundreds of fans that are set to storm his yard).
Then he drenched Krasinski in eggnog just to add a little extra oomph to his prank.
Krasinski quickly jumped up from his chair and ran over to Kimmel to spread the eggnog onto him as well, even sitting on his lap to make sure it got all over him, too.
“Soooo This happened tonight. Happy holidays everyone!” Krasinski tweeted out after the show.
Now that’s the Christmas spirit!
