Joe Manganiello relied on fiancée Sofia Vergara‘s native language to pop the big question back in December.

The actor, 38, revealed some of his Spanish proposal speech during an appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael on Monday.

“I had a big speech in Spanish, and that’s what I was nervous about,” the Magic Mike XXL star said. “The last thing you want to do is like mess up the Spanish on the proposal to the Colombian woman.”

Manganiello said part of his speech included “Eres mi todo,” which he explained means “you are my everything” in English.

The actor left the audience swooning as he spoke about his engagement, and said his castmates helped him come up with a plan to surprise the Modern Family actress.

“I knew then I was gonna ask, so all of the guys were giving me their ideas of how to do it,” Manganiello told hosts Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa. “Like Kevin [Nash], gave me the recommendation of who to go to for the ring. I started figuring it all out there while we were shooting.”

Strahan, who appears in the upcoming film, said he wasn’t much help with advice.

“Um, I’ve been divorced, I’m the wrong guy you wanna listen to,” he joked.

Manganiello proposed to Vergara, 42, during the couple’s winter getaway to the St. Regis Hotel in Princeville, Kauai.

“I wasn’t nervous that she was gonna say ‘no,’ I was pretty confident in that,” he told the hosts. “You only get one chance to do it, and if you’re gonna do it, you gotta do it right, so there’s a lot of planning that goes into it.”

“I had to invite like all my family, and Joe has a lot of friends. So it became bigger and bigger and bigger,” Vergara said in May of the upcoming nuptials.
