All hail Joan Collins.

The Dynasty actress has closed a deal to guest-star on E!’s first scripted series, The Royals, an hour-long drama about a fictional British royal family set in modern-day London.

In her role, Collins, 81, will play the Grand Duchess of Oxford, otherwise known as the mother of Queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley).

Described as “the only woman in the world more formidable and imposing” than her daughter, the Grand Duchess will enter the show with “an entourage and an agenda.”

“I am delighted to be part of this very entertaining project,” Collins tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Written, directed and produced by One Tree Hill‘s Mark Schwahn, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola, the series is set to premiere in early 2015.
