Here’s hoping Jimmy Fallon can write on-air thank-you notes again in no time.

Though he canceled Friday’s Tonight Show after undergoing surgery on his hand, the host let fans know he’s doing okay with a series of Tweets.

So how did Fallon, 40, hurt himself?

“Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing),” he Tweeted, adding the hashtags #drugged and #blessed.

“I’m doing well and thanks for good wishes everyone,” he continued.

“Jimmy Fallon was required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning,” his rep told PEOPLE earlier Friday. “He is expected to make a full recovery.”

The comedian also injured his hand two years ago when he almost cut off his finger while making salsa.

“I should just buy salsa,” he joked on Late Night afterward. “It’s easily available.”
