Jimmy Fallon can start writing a “thank you” note to his doctor – and not a sarcastic one from his popular skit.

The Tonight Show host, 40, was spotted out and about in New York on Wednesday sans cast – which he had been wearing ever since he was hospitalized following a serious home accident June 26.

“Tripped and caught my fall (good thing). Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing).,” Fallon Tweeted at the time.

After the accident, The Tonight Show host took a brief hiatus but returned after undergoing a minor surgery.

Fallon was first seen without his cast (but still wearing a bandage on his ring finger) on Monday night’s episode of the show.

He made fun of his injury with Jake Gyllenhaal on Tuesday night, when he challenged his guest to a hilarious game of Slapjack – and proceeded to slap the actor around with a giant prosthetic hand.
