Jill (Duggar) Dillard is officially 25 years old, and she’s celebrating at one of her and husband Derick‘s favorite places in the world.

“They’re still in Central America,” a source close to the family tells PEOPLE. “They’re living there for now. Nobody knows for how long.”

The insider adds, “The work they’re doing is very important to them.”

And Jill is in fine company – on Monday, her parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar shared a Facebook photo of themselves and Jill’s 14-year-old brother James on a plane that was captioned, “Headed to Central America to see our sweet Jill for her birthday tomorrow. This momma is so excited!”

The last year had many ups and downs for Jill, starting with the revelation last May that older brother Josh, now 28, had engaged in inappropriate contact with five underage girls when he was a teen.

Then in August, Josh admitted to having a pornography addiction and being unfaithful to his wife Anna. Shortly after, he checked in to a faith-based rehabilitation center, which he left in March.

And though is was a tumultuous year for Jill, she came out stronger. Most notably, she and Derick made the rewarding decision to relocate their family to Central to pursue long-term mission work with son Israel, 1.

And the coming year promises to be even more reward as the Dillards hope to become a family of four.

On the season finale of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, Jill admitted that she currently isn’t pregnant but she and Derick hope to have another child soon.
