There’s already drama with the new season of Jersey Shore – and production hasn’t even started!

Originally, the cast of the hit MTV show had prepared to arrive in Florence, Italy, to begin filming over the weekend, but, like most things on the show, the schedule got complicated.

“Production on Jersey Shore will begin this week, following the Italian presidential visit to Florence,” MTV said in a statement Monday. “In the ongoing spirit of cooperation, we’re waiting until his official visit concludes to start filming.”

The Italian president, Giorgio Napolitano, will be in Florence for the next few days.

Beyond the shoot dates, nothing else about production of the fourth season – including shooting locales – has changed.
