Jennifer Aniston is returning to the small screen with some help from a friend.

The Switch actress, 41, will guest star on Courteney Cox‘s Cougar Town for the show’s season 2 premiere on Sept. 22, ABC announced Monday.

“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” executive producer Bill Lawrence tells EW.com about their TV reunion. “Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist.”

This will mark the second time the duo have teamed up after Friends ended in 2004. Aniston also made an appearance on Cox’s FX show Dirt in 2007.

“Those guys are so close in real-life they kind of do that for each other anyway,” says Lawrence, adding that the new role was something Cox and Aniston were “both involved in creatively.”

And if Lawrence gets his way, Aniston will be back for more. “We’re very intentionally implying that it’s a therapist Courteney has been using for a while and we’re certainly not going to make it like they’ll never see each other again,” he says. “So I’m crossing my fingers that if she has a good time it’ll happen again.” – Eunice Oh
