On Thursday, Netflix released the first trailer for Turn Up Charlie, its upcoming series starring Idris Elba. And Elba, best known for his dramatic roles on BBC One’s Luther, HBO’s The Wire and feature films like Beasts of No Nation, is finally getting the chance to show off his comedy chops — and his real-life DJ skills.

Turn Up Charlie centers on the titular Charlie (Elba), a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor who thinks he’s finally getting the gig of a lifetime when he’s introduced to a world-class DJ, Sara (Piper Perabo), by his movie star best friend (JJ Feild).

But as the new trailer reveals, he’s instead asked to become a nanny to her problem-child daughter Gabby (Frankie Hervey), who wastes no time doing everything in her power to make him quit.

Elba, who started his career as a DJ in East London clubs before breaking out in Hollywood, co-created the show with Gary Reich and will also serve as executive producer. The half-hour comedy was given a straight-to-series, eight-episode order last year.

In support of the premiere, Elba, 46, will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on March 9.

Season 1 of Turn Up Charlie premieres March 15 on Netflix.
