'Idol' 's Repeat Performers

The Idol audition train moved into sunny San Diego Tuesday and 30 contestants (out of more than 12,000 auditions) shined bright enough to get a golden ticket to Hollywood. For one of them, it was the second time to wave the yellow slip of paper. Los Angeles resident, Carly Smithson, who is originally from Ireland, auditioned and made it to the Hollywood round during the season 5 auditions but ended up ineligible after there were problems with her American visa. Well, Carly was back in front of judges Randy, Paula and Simon, who gave her a unanimous “yes” after she performed a controled and stylized version of “I’m Every Woman” (by Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan), even though Simon told her she wasn’t as good during her second audition. Meanwhile, Blake Boshnak, of Long Beach, N.Y., also auditioned in San Diego — but this was his 11th attempt at the golden ticket. The 22-year-old sang “Stand By Me” for the judges, who disappointed Boshnak … and his mom … once again.

Tell us: Did you remember Carly? Was she as good as she was in her season 5 audition? Did you remember Blake? Were the judges fair to him? Should he to follow his dream and audition a 12th time?Michael Becker/FOX
