'Idol' 's Eva Miller: Real or Fake?

During the audition rounds of American Idol, it’s pretty easy to tell the truly talented singers from the contestants who have no chance at making it to Hollywood. They are the performers who hit every note, make a song their own and — if they’re really good — give you goosebumps. Then there are the ones that are both entertaining and embarrassing to watch. But, like a lot of reality TV these days, it can be a bit harder to tell which crazy contestants are putting on an act for the cameras and which ones are truly terrible.

On Tuesday’s episode, which saw more than 12,000 auditions in Atlanta, one contestant — hometown native Eva Miller — stumped the judges. She sang Vanessa Carlton‘s “A Thousand Miles” and danced until she slipped and fell in front of the judges, which had Paula, Randy and Simon assuming it was all a joke. But when they pushed Eva about the authenticity of her pitiful performance, she looked Simon in the eye and told him that she was sincere — and that she loved him.

She didn’t end up making it to Hollywood but she did get a hug from Simon who, when flattered, seemed to warm up to the 26-year-old. However, we’re still wondering if she was acting. Should she go home or go out an audition for a play?
