Ace Young will be dead Monday night — on TV, that is. That’s when the former season five Idol contestant guest stars on FOX’s Bones as a murder victim. Young plays Tommy Sour, a personal trainer and singer who is found dead at a local karaoke bar. Stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel investigate the mystery.

Viewers will hear Young sing two songs on the show, one of which is a cover of Nickelback’s “Far Away.” Also making an appearance is season six Idol contestant Brandon Rogers, who plays a fellow karaoke bar singer known as Broadway Wannabe Guy.

This is not Young’s first foray into acting. He has also appeared in a 2006 episode of Half & Half.

The 27-year-old Young, who earned a Grammy nomination last February for co-writing fellow Idol Chris Daughtry‘s It’s Not Over, recently finished his self-titled debut CD, which will be released in June. He’s currently on a national radio tour promoting the CD’s first single, “Addicted.” Gregg DeGuire/WireImage
