What is Derick Dillard – who joined the famously expansive Duggar family this past summer when he married Jill Duggar – going to be like as a father?

The season premiere of TLC’s hit reality show 19 Kids & Counting – which starts its ninth season Feb. 17 at 9 p.m. on TLC – will offer viewers a little sneak peek, complete with Derick and Jill hosting a fun-filled sleepover with Jill’s little sisters.

In an exclusive PEOPLE video of the season’s first episode, Derick and Jill, who are expecting a baby boy this spring, play host to the youngest Duggar girls with a fondue party that also includes fingernail-painting.

“It was really yummy,” 5-year-old Josie says in the clip.

Derick, 25, who has just one brother – in contrast to his wife Jill, 23, who has 18 siblings – had never painted anyone’s nails before.

“It was a lot of fun,” says Derick in the clip.

And his wife thought he actually knew what he was doing.

“You did pretty good,” Jill tells her husband.

This season of the show will feature Jill and Derick’s preparation for a baby, as well as her sister Jessa’s wedding to Ben Seewald this past November.
