How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor has a confession to make: After filming 99 episodes of CBS’s hit sitcom, he still doesn’t know who his character’s future wife will be.

“To the on the street who come up to me thinking I have some kind of secret information about this,“ he said on the show’s set before beginning rehearsals for the show’s 100th episode, “I do not.”

Amidst speculation that Radnor’s character Ted Mosby may ultimately end up with a character played by Rachel Bilson, who will have a guest arch on the show beginning with the 100th episode on Jan. 11, Alyson Hannigan offered her word that the show would begin to make headway towards finding The One. “This is the closest he’s ever been,” she says.

And if the mother isn’t Rachel Bilson after all? Costar Jason Segel offered a casting idea: “I think it would be fun to have Hillary Clinton as the mother.”

But that’s beside the point, adds Neil Patrick Harris. “You can’t forget the show is called How I Met Your Mother … The show is about the long journey about how one finds romance, and how it’s determined to be the long-lasting one through the eyes of these .” –Lisa IngrassiaStephen Lovekin/Getty, David Fisher/Rex
