The doctor is not checking back in.

Season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy picked up last Thursday where its midseason finale left off, but Kate Walsh says she will not be reprising her role as Dr. Addison Montgomery on the show.

The 48-year-old actress told PEOPLE at a CocoaVia-sponsored event prior to the Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards that “There are no plans for me to come back.”

She continued, “I get that question a lot. As much as I love it, and I’m flattered and I’m so thrilled that people love the show, but for me, I did it for nine years, and it’s had its run.”

But the star is launching a new show this year that involves a van and people off the street.

The mobile talk show, backed by Magical Elves – the same team who produces Top Chef and Project Runway – will be called Get in My Van.

“It’s basically where we drive around and interview people in a van,” she explains. “It will be really fun, I’m excited about that.”

Walsh, 48, says the show will be shot this summer with her comedian friend Arden Myrin.

“It will be actors, directors, writers – if we go around the country, it will be local people, like they’re known for the best XYZ,” she says. “We just want to get them in our van and take them hostage and amuse ourselves.”
