Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) has officially found her way into Page Six after the up-and-coming designer and her posse of downtown cool kids crashed a society party where Lily and Bart Bass were being honored. There, Little J debuted her line in a wacky fashion show to Manhattan’s elite. She was well received and received a kiss from Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), who was on hand to offer her congratulations. New York might have been loving Jenny, but dad Rufus Humphrey and pseudo big sis Vanessa (Jessica Szhor) were not. Rufus finally lost his temper and tried to have Little J arrested. Well done, Rufus — someone needed to check her. Vanessa, Jenny’s only real friend and ally, was totally betrayed when she caught her crush sucking face with a sophomore. Wasn’t J the one who told Vanessa to go for Nate not too long ago?
Just Asking: Shouldn’t Rufus have seen this coming? Jenny’s super dark eyeliner should have been a dead giveaway.
Much to our relief, the bromance between Nate and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) is officially over. When Dan caught Nate smooching Jenny on Gossip Girl’s blog, Dan went into protective big brother mode. If you were hoping for one of Dan’s infamous punches, a hard shove and a kicking out had to suffice. Nate refused to go back to former best buddy Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), but something tells us he isn’t going to live with his mom in the Hamptons either. And what is in that letter that he sent to Little J?
Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) finally got her Yale dream, but it doesn’t come so easily. When best friend Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) took her to meet a Yale alum, Blair failed miserably to impress her — until Serena offered Blair as a baby-sitter to her frisky pre-teen daughter. Instead of movie night or Harry Potter book club, Blair ended up chasing the girl all over the city, trying to catch her before she lost her virginity. Like always, Blair succeeded and even bonded with her because Blair was the same lost girl just a few years back. When confronted by the mother for keeping her out, Blair refrained from black mail (she did catch the mother making out with a young guy at 1Oack and snapped a photo) and left instead. In the end, being nice paid off. Blair got a personal invitation from the dean to join Yale.
Quick question: Was Serena wearing another extremely inappropriate outfit to meet a college alum? She is the party girl, but a cleavage top and mini skirt for tea? It’s too much (or too little, rather).
Speaking of too much, Serena’s childhood love was back, sending her candy rings and leaving cute voice mails on her phone. But he can’t seem to shake those other girls. Serena already had to deal with the female best friend in her troubled-from-the-start relationship with Dan, so hopefully she won’t fall into that mess again. Aaron Rose (James Patrick Amedori) is turning out to be more playboy than starving artist, but at least he won’t give her lip for being almost famous.
Tell us: Will Jenny make it on her own? What will happen to Nate? And how much longer with Serena and Aaron be a thing?Michael Caulfield/WireImage
