The Affair star took the trophy in competition with Uzo Aduba of Orange Is the New Black, Downton Abbey‘s Joanne Froggatt, Regina King of American Crime and Transparent‘s Judith Light.

During her acceptance speech, Tierney gave a shout-out out to costar Dominic West, saying he should win “best performance by a male in a role who makes every woman hate him.”

Hosted once again by Ricky Gervais, the 73rd annual Golden Globes are being presented live from Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on NBC.
