How Michael Strahan Has Bonded with His 'Good Morning America' Colleagues

Michael Strahan has made sure to spend time with just about all of his Good Morning America co-hosts

Michael Strahan may have just settled into his new full-time role at Good Morning America a few weeks ago, but he’s felt like part of the family much longer.

“I’ve hung out with everybody,” Strahan, 44, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “I played golf with George Stephanopoulos.”

“Robin [Roberts] has been a mentor and has helped me so much,” he continues. “I hang out with Amy Robach; she loves scary movies, and I get scared to death.”

And in true form, some of Strahan’s closeness to his colleagues results from his affable personality and dedication to putting in the time outside of work.

“I went to see Snoop Dogg with Lara Spencer,” he says, adding that “Ginger Zee is so sweet.’

And as a former professional football player, Strahan has an especially unique connection with a certain former teammate–turned– GMA colleague.

“I love Jesse Palmer,” Strahan says. “We played together for the Giants. He was on The Bachelor when I was playing with him, and every week we’d be like, ‘Oh, come on, dude, who’d you pick? Who’d you give a rose to?’ ”
