Has a stint in Iowa finally made Hannah a happy, well-adjusted person?

Since this is the world of Girls, it looks like the answer is no – but some time in the Midwest apparently does have its perks for Lena Dunham‘s perennially struggling character, according to the newly released trailer for the fourth season of the hit HBO show.

“Honestly, I feel like I made the right decision, which is a totally new sensation for me,” Hannah tells Marnie (Allison Williams) during a Skype call at the start of the new trailer, released Friday. “I mean, I’m eating grapes – as a snack!”

The trailer also shows its stars still struggling to find their footing in adulthood: Hannah continues to stress about her relationship with Adam (Adam Driver), Marnie continues to embark on her (misguided?) singing career, Jessa (Jemima Kirke) seemingly gets arrested, and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) tries to get a job.

“I just don’t understand why nobody tells you how bad it’s going to be in the real world,” Shoshanna moans to Marnie.

“Yeah, they do,” Marnie retorts. “It’s pretty much all they ever tell you.”
