But does that mean Rory and Dean shippers won’t get their happy ending?
Padalecki recently revealed that he returned to Stars Hollow for a brief scene, though he didn’t explicitly say whether he’s spending that scene with costar Alexis Bledel.
“I will say probably a lot more than I’m supposed to,” the actor said during a convention for his hit CW show Supernatural. “[Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino] basically said, ‘Listen, we’re going to write you a really cool scene and if you get a day off let us know we will just put your scene on the schedule for that day.’ She was like, ‘It’s a set that we already run and own [and] it’s an actress that already is working every day, so let us know.”
So, that actress could possibly be Bledel, who plays Rory.
“Dean has a cool scene in the market he used to work at,” teased Padalecki, 33. “It’s a nice, a really nice scene that gave me closure.”
Padalecki then said that his exit from the show was abrupt, so he didn’t get a chance to wrap his around the character’s fate.
“For me, I never had closure. One day I was an actor on Gilmore Girls and the next day I had a TV show and would never again be on Gilmore Girls,” he recalled to the crowd. “So for me, as a person, it was weird, because I was like ‘What about Dean?’ ”
“So it was fun to go wrap it up in a really cool way,” he added.
The Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is set to land on Netflix later this year.
