Gilmore Girls is coming back!
Netflix announced Friday it is bringing back original stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop for the revival of the WB family dramedy. Other stars set to return include Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena.
There’s no title yet set for the series, which originally ran for seven seasons from 2000–2007. Rumors of a Netflix revival first began popping up in October.
Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is the creator and executive producer of the revival, with Gilmore Girls executive producer Daniel Palladino returning to serve as an executive producer. The pair are writing and directing all episodes.
At the ATX Television Festival’s cast reunion in June, Sherman-Palladino teased that she hoped a revival would happen.
“It would have to be the right everything, like the right format, the right timing, the right way. … It would have to be honored in a certain way. And I think that if it ever came around, I think we would all jump in and do it,” she said. “If it ever happened, I promise you, we’ll do it correctly.”
