Emily Knows Best:' Gilmore Girls' Star Kelly Bishop's Surprising Pick for Rory's Endgame Guy

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is currently streaming on Netflix

It’s the question on all Gilmore Girls fans’ minds: Who will Rory end up with? Everyone is anxious to find out — except Rory’s own grandma!

Kelly Bishop, the actress who plays Emily Gilmore on the hit series, sat down with PEOPLE to talk all things Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and revealed who would be her ideal pick for her TV granddaughter.

Though Bishop, 72, claims to be “not that involved” in weighing in on Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) romantic life, she does give a slight edge to one suitor: “I like [all] the actors, but I still have this fondness for Matt [Czuchry].”

Czuchry, 39, plays Logan Huntzberger, the boyfriend who proposed to Rory after graduating college — but was turned down.

“He just has this quality on screen that reminds me of an old-style leading man, like a Clark Gable, even though he has a very young face,” she added. “It’s something that he does.”

But Bishop does credit all three guys who played Rory’s love interests on the hit series.

“They’re just good actors, very good looking, very appealing,” she said of Jared Padalecki (Dean) and Milo Ventimiglia (Jess). “I honestly don’t have a favorite. I just like to sit back and watch.”

She continued, “I’m very selfish, I got really involved in my own story.”
