In the end, Gavin and Karina were in the bottom two and faced off in the dance duel against Jaleel White and Kym Johnson. The judges made their decision based purely on the quality of the performances, host Tom Bergeron said, as both couples performed a cha cha side by side. Their decision was unanimous: the judges saved Jaleel and Kym. “It’s amazing just being part of the show,” an upbeat Gavin said when asked about the best part of his experience. “Knowing Karina Smirnoff, of course, having a great mentor. And getting to reach out and know all these amazing people who are a part of this show.” Jaleel and Kym, along with the other remaining couples, will be back next week for Dancing‘s Motown-themed night.
