Game of Thrones Is Heading to IMAX Theaters
We don't recommend you order popcorn while you take in a viewing
Game of Thrones‘ fifth season doesn’t premiere until the spring, but you won’t have to wait that long to get your fix.
HBO and IMAX have partnered to bring the award-winning series to the big screen – what better way to fully immerse yourself in the sex, carnage and witty Lannister repartee?
From Jan. 23 29, the network will screen a full-length trailer of the upcoming season and the last two episodes of season 4 in 150 IMAX screens across the U.S.
The content will be digitally remastered for the big screen, meaning you’ll be able to examine the Battle of Castle Black in explicit detail – all the better for getting your heart ripped out once again over the never-ending tragedy that is Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) life.
Last season’s Emmy-nominated finale, “The Children,” follows Tyrion’s (Peter Dinklage) daring escape from King’s Landing … but not before he secured his bloody revenge.
This is the first time that a TV series will be showcased in such a way, and you can buy tickets “in coming days,” says an HBO press release, over at IMAX.com.
