Game of Thrones fans, get ready for the most exciting four seconds of your 2014.

In a new trailer from HBO rounding up the best of 2014 – and what’s to come for 2015 – a precious few scenes are devoted to the highly anticipated fifth season of the network’s most violent, bloody and incest-filled game of royal musical chairs.

Take it all in, people, because these moments (found at 1:38 in the video above) are precious but fleeting.

Lena Headey (as Cersei Lannister) in Game of Thrones

Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), as always, is seen storming around angrily while flanked by royal guards. Hard to blame her for her rage – her family line is dropping like flies while Margaery Tyrell is slyly and quietly taking over the reins at King’s Landing.

Kit Harington (as Jon Snow) in Game of Thrones

Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is moody, mopey and cold following the Battle of Castle Black. Behind him is Olly (Brenock O’Connor), the member of the Night’s Watch who killed Jon’s wildling girlfriend, Ygritte. Awkward. (Of course, Ygritte did kill Olly’s father.)

Peter Dinklage (as Tyrion Lannister) in Game of Thrones

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is on the lam from the law after being wrongly convicted of the murder of his nephew, King Joffrey. After being freed by his brother, Jamie, Tyrion killed his father, Tywin, and his ex-lover, Shae. Honestly, most parties deserved their fate, but The Halfman may want to pull that hood up a little higher.

Maisie Williams (as Arya) on Game of Thrones

Finally, we have Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), who appears to have arrived at the shores of Braavos following a journey across the Narrow Sea. At the end of season 4, we saw her trade in her iron coin and the words “valar morghulis” with the Braavosi captain of the Titan’s Daughter.

All men who comment with book spoilers must die. (That’s what “valar morghulis” means, right?)

Season 5 of Game of Thrones will air in the spring of 2015.
