Andrea Barber’s Full House role as Kimmy Gibler will always be a fan favorite – but how do her kids feel about it?

According to the actress, her son Tate, 11, and daughter Felicity, 8, love the show – but of course, there’s that inevitable twinge of embarrassment.

“I’ll stop and pause [when Full House is on television] and I’ll be like ‘Oh, I remember this episode. Kids, let’s watch.’ They’ll want to watch. They’re fans of Full House,” Barber, 39, told PEOPLE at the Fuller House premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

“Then, Kimmy Gibbler will do one of her zany moves or something embarrassing, and my daughter will be like, ‘Mom!’ ” Barber continued.

“It doesn’t matter how famous you are, you always somehow end up embarrassing your kids,” she added. “When you’re Kimmy Gibler, that is kind of exemplified.”

Barber – who came out of retirement for the much-anticipated Netflix reboot of the popular ’90s sitcom – also said that her kids came to three tapings of Fuller House and are “super excited about the new show.”

PEOPLE also caught up with Lori Loughlin, who explained her daughters Isabella, 17, and Olivia, 16, can’t help but get excited when they happen upon their mom on TV.

“I will stop if I am flipping channels and watch it, but I don’t search for it. Same thing with my kids,” Loughlin, 51, said. “I think they switch channels and they say, ‘Mom, you’re on! You’re on!’ ”

Loughlin continued: “It is funny when your kids catch up to you and you can joke with them, and they have an adult sense of humor and you look at them and realize … they are funny! They are fun to be around!”

Meanwhile, we’ll all get to catch plenty more of San Francisco’s favorite family when Fuller House premieres on Netflix on Feb. 26.
