NBC announced at a Television Critics Association panel on Wednesday that the long-awaited Friends reunion is really, truly happening. As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, the entire cast will reunite for a two-hour special honoring the sitcom’s director James Burrows, who helmed episodes of iconic shows including Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show and Cheers and who recently shot his 1,000th episode of television. NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt confirmed that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will all participate. “I’m hoping all six will be in same room at same time,” he told reporters, but, “I’m not sure we can logistically pull it off.” It would appear LeBlanc is certainly game to do so: The special will air Feb. 21 on NBC.
