Is Rumer Willis putting back on her dancing shoes for a new ABC show?
On Thursday, ABC announced that the network and Dick Clark Productions are partnering with the creators of “For the Record” to bring the Los Angeles-based musical theater show to television for a live event. This theater production is known for turning film soundtracks from famous directors into “thrilling, immersive live-entertainment events.”
“For The Record Live is a first-of-its-kind live musical event made for ABC,” said Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment. “The show will be a game changer for the genre and the network is proud to partner with Dick Clark productions and ‘For the Record’ for this exciting experience.”
While fans are thrilled over the news, there’s one performer who is extremely excited to see her former theater hit TV – Willis. After the news broke, she took to Instagram to congratulate the FTR Company by writing: “Could not be more proud!!!”
“For The Record” began in 2010 in a small bar in East Hollywood and celebrates the soundtracks of famous films and filmmakers. Willis, 27, starred in the theater’s tribute to Baz Luhrmann, Tarantino (based on Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino), as well as the production of Dear John Hughes.
Fans will just have to wait to find out which director the TV version will focus on and if Willis is going to play a part – here’s to hoping.
