First Listen: Lost’s Harold Perrineau Records a Song for the Troops
Hardcore Lost fans know that Harold Perrineau is returning to the hit ABC show Lost this season, but what they may not know is that the actor also has a musical background.
“In high school and college I was a classical violinist and singer,” says Perrineau who will release his first single “Stay Strong,” a song he wrote in dedication to the troops, on iTunes Tuesday, December 18. Perrineau describes the song as “a mix of R&B and pop,” and says his motivation for recording the track came from the troops “bravery which helps afford me the opportunity to live the life I live.”
Perrineau even shot a video for the single in which his Lost costar Daniel Dae Kim makes his directorial debut.
“He also had the idea of giving back to our troops,” says Perrineau of Kim. “A lot of the crew from Lost donated their time to make the video and we received lots of support from ABC News, who provided us with lots of footage of the war.”
The video will be available for download on iTunes shortly after the release of the single, but for now here’s a preview of the track. –Jessica Herndon
