Felicity Huffman is standing behind her TV son, Charlie Carver.

On Monday, the 27-year-old came out as gay and days later, Huffman is making it known that she loves and supports her co-star, taking to Facebook on Wednesday to share an open note to him.

“Dear Charlie,” she writes. “I love you. I admire you. I applaud you. You make me happy to be human. You make me proud to be an actor. Love your TV Mom, Lynette. And your real life friend, Flicka.”

Huffman’s words were accompanied by a photo of a sign that reads, “be who you needed when you were younger,” the same picture that the Teen Wolf star shared in his coming out message on Instagram.

“As a young boy, I knew I wanted to be an actor. I knew I wanted to be a lot of things It was around that age that I also knew, however abstractly, that I was different from some of the other boys in my grade,” Carver said in his announcement. “Over time, this abstract ‘knowing’ grew and articulated itself through a painful gestation marked by feelings of despair and alienation, ending in a climax of saying three words out loud: ‘I am gay’.”

The actor added that he first came out to his friends and family, comforted by the fact that he was in a safe space with loved ones where his sexual orientation was “celebrated.”
