She’s been known to drop a surprise album in the past. So it will be only fitting if Beyoncé gives a surprise performance Sunday at the 2016 Emmy Awards – where her visual album Lemonade was nominated for four awards.

A source tells PEOPLE the 35-year-old singer – who will be attending TV’s biggest awards – may wow the crowd with a surprise performance.

Having already lost three of her major awards – variety special, editing and production – at last week’s Creative Arts ceremonies, the Houston native is going into the evening hoping to score TV’s biggest award for co-directing Lemonade.

She is nominated in the outstanding directing for a variety special award alongside her co-director Kahlil Joseph.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actress and nominee Ellie Kemper gushed about Beyoncé during the pre-show, while UnREAL actress and nominee Constance Zimmer told PEOPLE before that she’s hoping to meet the singer at the awards.

“I just saw her last night in concert, and I have never witnessed something like that in my life,” the actress gushed while attending AUDI’s party celebrating the 68th Emmys. “What she does, not only as, obviously, a singer, songwriter, dancer, mother…”

“I went with my 8-year-old,” Zimmer continued, “and I just thought, ‘I didn’t have this when I was 8.’ ”

It goes further than any fandom, any heroine worship, because the UnREAL star was able to watch her daughter bask in the wonder that is a strong, empowered, and uplifting talent.

“I didn’t have this kind of person. A woman, who is like, ‘You are the most important thing in the world!’ ” 45-year-old actress gushed. “And [my daughter] is hearing this from this incredible being onstage, [who is] just owning everything that she touches. I just think that she is just such an incredible role model.”

The 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are airing live on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
