Uzo Aduba‘s eyes were only filled with tears as she took home the 2015 Emmy Award for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for her role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in Orange Is the New Black.

The actress, 34, made history Sunday night by becoming the first person since Ed Asner to win both drama and comedy Emmys for playing the same character.

“I really just want to say thank you a thousand times,” she said while tearfully accepting the award.

“I’m so thankful to stand beside a set of artists who are so brilliant,” she continued.

After thanking her cast and crew, the Emmy winner said, “You guys are incredible, and I love you mostly because you let me be me.”

Aduba then broke down into tears as she thanked her family (with her sister Chi Chi in the audience), “Thank you to my family who have stood beside me my entire life.”

“My sister Chi Chi, you are my my very best friend,” she said. “I am humbled to call myself your sister.”
