The Emmys have spoken, and Jon Stewart‘s The Daily Show has been named the best outstanding variety talk series of 2015 after signing off for good last month.

“To everyone on television, cling to it as long as you can, like death,” Stewart said shortly after receiving his trophy. “I have been off television for six or seven weeks and this is the first applause I’ve heard since.”

Then, Stewart got serious about the team he worked with.

“These people I love desperately,” he said. “I will never work with people like this. I will never have an experience like this again.”

He was sure to thank Comedy Central before cracking wise again saying, “You will never have to see me again.”

It was an especially competitive category this year with departing hosts Stewart, Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report and David Letterman of Late Show with David Letterman all having nominated shows. The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live! were also nominated.

LL Cool J presented the award at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Fox aired the 2015 Emmy Awards, hosted by Andy Samberg, live on Sept. 20.
