She got engaged in the most modern way imaginable – on TV. But deep down, Emily Maynard says she’s old-fashioned, and she plans to take Jef Holm’s last name when they get married.

“Even though I went on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, I’m pretty traditional, believe it or not. So, yeah, for sure,” she says of one day becoming Emily Holm.

However, speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show, Maynard and Holm couldn’t say exactly when that wedding might happen.

“We don’t have a specific date set yet,” Maynard says. “He’s going to move to Charlotte, and then we’re just going to take it day by day.”

Asked if they might agree to allow their wedding to be televised, Maynard was noncommital but says it’s not out of the question.

“People keep asking us that. And I keep saying the same thing. We don’t even know what we’re going to eat for lunch tomorrow,” Maynard says. “I’ve learned to never say never. It’s something we’ll have to talk about when the time comes, as a family.”

For now, all seems good in Emily and Jef’s world. Perhaps most tellingly, they insist their relationship is strong and real – something not many couples formed by reality television can say.

“It doesn’t seem like we even met on a show. It’s so weird to us,” says Holm. “We talk about it all the time. We’re just like, ‘I can’t believe we found each other the way we did.’ ”
