The Bachelor's Elyse Dehlbom Reveals Why She Didn't Appear on The Women Tell Episode
A month after she made the decision to leave the show, Dehlbom was noticeably missing from Tuesday's confessional episode
If you were wondering where former contestant Elyse Dehlbom was on the most recent episode of The Bachelor: The Women Tell All, you weren’t alone.
During Tuesday’s confessional episode featuring Colton Underwood and his exes, fans were confused when they noticed Dehlbom — who made the decision to leave the show during filming — was noticeably missing from the group.
As the episode aired, the 31-year-old makeup artist posted on Instagram where she explained she was a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding and had to miss the Women Tell All episode, which was taped in February.
To prove her whereabouts, the season 23 star shared a video from the wedding that saw Dehlbom accidentally getting hit in the face with the bride’s bouquet after it was tossed — so seems she might be getting married soon after all if the wedding superstition about catching the bouquet comes true.
“I would have loved to reconnect with the cast, @coltonunderwood and the incredible @bachelorabc team… But I was too busy getting slapped in the face by the potential for my own happily ever after 💕” she captioned the hilarious video.
Dehlbom also reflected on her Bachelor journey on her Instagram Stories and explained what she had taken away from “one of the most challenging experiences I have gone through.”
“First off, I learned more about myself and what I want from a partner in the weeks on this show than I have in quite some time,” she said on Instagram Stories, according to ET. “It challenged me in ways I never expected. It afforded me the opportunity to take a long look in the mirror and see what I needed to work on, to be the type of person that my future husband deserves.”
During week 5, Dehlbom decided to quit the show while she was in Thailand with Underwood. At the time, Dehlbom told him, “I want the time and attention that a relationship deserves… I can’t accept a proposal after a few months of sharing your time and attention with other people.”
“I left in a lot of tears, and a dress that while I loved may have looked a bit like a wedding gown,” she said on Instagram of her departure. “However, I have absolutely no doubts that I was supposed to be on this season of The Bachelor.”
“To challenge myself…To form amazing friendships… To meet Colton, a man I think the world of, and on our date to share the experience of giving back to such deserving children,” Dehlbom continued.
Wrapping up her note, Dehlbom thanked Underwood and the show for “the lessons, the tears, the friendships” and for allowing her to “be authentically myself.”
Even without Dehlbom present, there was certainly lots of drama that unfolded during the Women Tell All episode.
The special opened with some truly epic squabbling between everyone on the stage. It became almost impossible to figure out who was saying what as they all battled to be heard. Finally, Chris Harrison got a handle on things and viewers had an opportunity to hear from several of the women, as well as Underwood.

Perhaps the most dramatic moment was when Courtney and Demi confronted each other about their past drama, which ended with Courtney shoving a pacifier in Demi’s mouth while calling her a “child” and “immature.”
The Bachelor airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
