Eddie Redmayne may have won a Screen Actors Guild award on Sunday, but he told Jimmy Kimmel the real prize was a slew of star encounters that came with his new hardware.

Visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, The Theory of Everything star compared himself to a “a kid in a candy store” at this year’s SAG festivities.

The biggest treats of the night? Meeting Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts.

The night began when Roberts, 47, handed Redmayne, 33, the statuette for outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role.

After watching Pretty Woman, one of his father’s favorites, “at an inappropriate age,” Redmayne found himself in a surreal position: “Suddenly there I was sort of hugging Julia Roberts, and I was meant to be articulate, and all I could think was, ‘I want to tell my dad!’ ”

Another family favorite – this time a mutual love of Friends shared with wife Hannah Bagshawe (who couldn’t attend the ceremony) – prompted his next “inappropriate” move.

After spotting Aniston, 45, at an after party, Redmayne says he and pals “just literally stalked about four meters behind her for the entire evening” until she was available for a photo.

But, the Oscar nominee notes, “She could have, like, turned around and slapped us for being stalkers.”
