'Nervous' Nick Viall Admits He Needs to 'Chill Out' on 'DWTS' : 'If Not, I Might Be Going Home'

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC

Nick Viall has conquered his first two weeks of Dancing with the Stars, but he admits that he still gets “nervous” going out onto the dance floor.

In a PEOPLE exclusive vlog, Viall, 36, reveals that to kick off week three, he and pro partner Peta Murgatroyd will first be the first couple to perform: a tango to the tunes of Lady Gaga.

“Last week was okay. I don’t know if you saw on the monitors, but I actually stopped literally in the middle of the dance and I’m just glad I recovered,” Viall says in the vlog.

Although the former Bachelor star has appeared on multiple reality TV shows in front of millions of viewers, performing in front of a live audience is a very different story.

“I tense up right before the dance and I kind of choked, honestly,” he explains of his week two performance with Murgatroyd.

Sporting a Mickey Mouse shirt that reads “chill out,” Viall says that he needs to “chill out a little bit” moving forward in the competition.

“Tonight’s going to be a big night,” says Viall. “Hopefully by the time you see this, Peta and I will have knocked it out of the park and we’ll kind of rewrite this season and we’ll see.”

But if Viall and Murgatroyd don’t deliver the performance they’re hoping for, Viall is worried that he could be the one going home. “If not, I might be going home pretty early,” he adds.
