Today is the day! I have been dancing for exactly 4 weeks. Now is the time I hope all the practice I have been doing is going to pay off. I hope to turn a lot of heads after tonight, surprising that I know had NO idea what to expect from me. Chelsie has worked hard trying to turn me into a dancer, and I’ve got to admit, it has been much harder than I ever expected it to be.
This week hasn’t been a very eventful “blog” week. My partner Chelsie Hightower and I have just been running through our routines and adding the little extras to the dances……over and over and over again. I did learn my jive steps for next week, which I feel is a little premature given I need to make it past this first round. Besides all the practicing, we have had so many interviews and wardrobe fittings…it’s been crazy busy! I did manage to slip away Sunday for a BBQ with my good friends from DCMA. It was nice to chill and talk with friends.
I did my camera blocking the other day and it went super well. Although I was a little nervous stepping on the stage for the first time, the minute the camera started rolling, I felt fine. The dance went well…head up, shoulders up and I didn’t trip! I really hope this is a good sign of how things will go Monday night.
So here I am, ready to go. Got some nerves going on because I want everyone to see the hard work I’ve put into this and I hope I accomplish that. Mostly, I’m just ready to get out there and get it going. Either way it’ll be great since I have family and friends out here in L.A. for the show. Time to go….vote!
