Before Downton Abbey finishes its fifth season, many questions must be answered: Will Anna (Golden Globe winner Joanne Froggatt) remain in jail for the murder of her rapist? Will Mary (Michelle Dockery) officially settle on a suitor? And will Violet (Maggie Smith) please deliver a zing – or six – to lighten the mood?

In the midst of all those questions, an exclusive clip sees Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville), accompanied by Branson (Allen Leech) and Thomas (Rob James-Collier), heading for a sporting week with the judgmental Lord Sinderby (James Faulkner), aka Lady Rose’s new father-in-law.

As Violet and Isobel (Penelope Wilton) see the men off, the women commiserate over their concerns about the gathering.

This particular combination of personalities, as Violet succinctly puts it, is “not what I call a recipe for a peaceful week’s shooting.”

Isobel half jokes, “Makes you wonder what they’ll be shooting at by the end of it.”

Well, that answers one question.

Downton Abbey‘s season 5 finale airs on Masterpiece Sunday, March 1, at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
