Don Lemon is headed down the aisle!
“He gave me a present on his birthday. How could I say no?” Lemon captioned two photos of their dogs Boomer and Barkley’s collars, which read “Daddy Will You Marry Papa?”
Malone, 35, shared the same photo on his Instagram Story, writing: “He said Yes!”
Here’s everything you need to know about Lemon’s fiancé.
New York Roots
According to Malone’s profile at Corcoran Group, the real estate firm where he works, he grew up in Water Mill, New York, which is located on Long Island.
After graduating from Southampton High School in 2002, Malone enrolled in Boston College, graduating in 2006. His LinkedIn profile shows that Malone studied history and journalism.
Media and Marketing Skills
After graduating from Boston College, Malone settled down in New York City, where he’s lived ever since.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Malone started off his post-collegiate career as a member of the NBC page program, where he was assigned to work as a production assistant for the Today show.
He stayed at NBC until 2013, working in sales for USA and SYFY channel, as well as the network’s sports department.
Malone went on to work in marketing at Billboard for three years and also briefly worked as an executive director at entertainment company Junkin Media.
Real Estate Career
After a decade of working in media and advertising, Malone joined the Corcoran Group in 2018.
The agent has sold a handful of pricey properties in his time there, including a $19 million townhouse on the Upper East Side, as well as a $4.4 million property in Carnegie Hill, a neighborhood within the UES.
Must Love Dogs
As evident from the sweet way Malone popped the question, the couple are devoted to their dogs, who frequently travel with them.
Poking fun at their commitment to their precious pooches last month, Malone shared a screenshot of a silly conversation the pair had about their dog’s bathroom habits.
“These are our conversations 50% of the time. Can’t think of anything more fun to talk about,” Malone captioned the snap, adding three crying with laughter emojis.
In addition to loving dogs, according to Malone’s Corcoran profile, he also enjoys trips to the beach, running and politics, and considers himself a “news junkie.”
“I found love,” Lemon told co-host Brooke Baldwin before breaking into an impromptu ditty as the pair once again rang in the New Year in New Orleans.
The year before, during the 2017 NYE celebrations, Lemon told Baldwin, “We met in New York,” adding, “I don’t care where you meet. If you’re happy, you’re happy.”
