Inside Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock & Chris Siegfried's Engagement Bliss – and Their Home!
Desiree Hartsock and her fiancé, Chris Siegfried, say they are happily and romantically nesting in advance of their upcoming wedding.
After their May 2013 engagement on The Bachelorette, the couple moved in together in Seattle and easily blended their design sensibilities and lifestyles as they put together a cozy and loving home, the couple told TheNest.com.
“Chris knows how to surprise me with flowers or a simple note to make me feel special and thought of. That always makes me happy!” bridal stylist Hartsock, 28, said of their romance.
She’s equally committed to returning the interest “by constantly reminding me how much she loves me,” Siegfried said. “I love that she makes sure she gets a kiss before I leave for work every day.”
The couple, who celebrated their engagement at an intimate party last February in Seattle, said they try hard to set aside sweet together time, noting the importance of keeping their connection strong.
“We like to be outdoors when at all possible even if that is taking a walk to get dessert or sitting outside on our patio,” said Hartsock, who had her bridal shower in September in Los Angeles. “With our busy schedules we do plan date nights and think it’s important to do so.
Of cooking duties, Hartsock gives major props to her man, who creates dishes that are healthy and delicious, she said. “Chris is definitely the better cook and enjoys [making] dinner,” said Hartsock. “Our favorite side dish to make and eat is a mozzarella, cucumber, basil, tomato and avocado salad. So good!”
While the couple have not announced a wedding date, their bonding in advance of their big day also includes low-key entertaining with pals. “We love having our friends over and will usually make dinner or grab takeout to have and catch up over some glasses of wine,” Hartsock said.
Putting a home together has been easy, they said, and now the couple is eager to see their future unfold. The most exciting part of getting married, said Hartsock: “Sharing life together and planning our future with little ones and everything.”
