Things at the ABC reality dance competition are up in the air after Tamar Braxton, 38, revealed on Wednesday that she has blood clots in her lungs and is dropping out of the competition. With Braxton’s spot in the season 21 final 5 now open, there is discussion among the show’s producers about bringing back PenaVega, 27, who was just eliminated on Monday. “The producers are looking at all possibilities right now,” a DWTS insider tells PEOPLE. “There is a possibility that Alexa could be reinstated.” PenaVega (who has been blogging about her DWTS experience with her husband Carlos exclusively for PEOPLE) received three perfect 10s from the judges on Monday after a contemporary dance with pro dancer Mark Ballas inspired by her struggle with bulimia and followed that up with another set of perfect 10s for her Chicago-inspired routine with Bindi Irwin, but she was still sent home based on her scores from the week before. Since the viewers did not get the chance to vote for PenaVega after her performances on Monday, it is unclear how her return to the show would work. But the show must go on as at least PenaVega’s husband, Irwin, Nick Carter and French train hero Alek Skarlatos continue to vie for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, which will be awarded at the season finale on Nov. 24.
