'Dancing with the Stars' : Who's the First to Go?

Four couples with the lowest scores were at risk of an early departure

Season 14 of Dancing with the Stars premiered with what head judge Len Goodman considered the most impressive debut in the show’s history. But it’s a competition – and somebody had to go.

With two weeks of combined scores, Martina Navratilova, Melissa Gilbert, Gavin DeGraw and Gladys Knight ranked lowest among the 12 couples on the show. But which celebrity and their pro partner were in jeopardy of heading home once votes were added into the equation? And who was the first to leave the ballroom this season?

First-to-Go Club: DWTS‘s Early Dismissals

Martina and her partner Tony Dovolani were sent home.

“It was an amazing experience. I just wish it could have lasted longer. I’d give anything I had, but I blew it yesterday and it cost me, unfortunately,” the tennis icon said. “I wish everybody great luck.”

Joining her in the bottom: Gavin and his partner Karina Smirnoff, who blogged earlier this week that they needed to "step it up" after their first performance.

Gavin told host Tom Bergeron that his strategy going forward would be to, “improve about five points out of 10.”
