Israel’s version of Dancing with the Stars currently features a same-sex couple – will America’s favorite show be next?

“I would love it,” DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba tells PEOPLE. “I fully support that and I think America is ready for that. Our country is much more accepting of same sex couples and it would be great for the show to reflect that.”

So, is there a star out there willing to be part of the first same-sex pair?

Ryan Seacrest told actress Portia de Rossi Thursday on his KIIS-FM radio show that show producers have said she’s “on the top of their list,” but that he assumed she would pass. “I figure if you’re going to pass, why not pass here?” he said.

But de Rossi insisted she’d consider it. “I’m not going to pass! Let me think about it,” she said. “I used to be a ballet dancer. It’s not completely a pass. You never know!”

When asked about the de Rossi casting rumors, Inaba says she’d be all for it. “I don’t cast the show,” she said, “but I think it would be great and I’d show up in my rainbow colors and fully support it.”
