Deaf America’s Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco didn’t even make it through one week of rehearsals before being sent to the hospital. During his first few days preparing for the reality dance competition, DiMarco was accidentally struck in the face by his partner Peta Murgatroyd, the model’s rep confirms to PEOPLE. At first, DiMarco didn’t even notice he had been cut, but realized he needed stitches after he started bleeding, the rep continues. DiMarco received four stitches just above his eyebrow and was soon back in the studio rehearsing with Murgatroyd for Monday’s season premiere. “We’ve been rehearsing quite a lot,” DiMarco said via his interpreter in his first DWTS vlog for PEOPLE last week. “It’s been amazing and full of [surprises].” Apparently, that was an understatement. Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
