That said, I could not have happier with how things went during the live show. It was really worth all the pain when I watched our dance back and saw how much the audience responded to it.
And the judges were great too. I would have loved to get all 9s but I’ll take a 9 and two 8s. Keo and I, our rise to the top has been slow and steady and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m glad we didn’t peak early on in the competition because I think we are showing America that we are working hard and getting better every dance.
This week Keo and I are dancing a quickstep, which is a dance that always intimidated me when I would watch the show at home. I’m definitely still feeling the effects of the cray acrobatic moves we had to do last week but I was pleasantly surprised that the dance felt very at home in my body from the very first rehearsal and as long as I don’t bother the one bruised spot on my foot, I’m okay.
We’re dancing to Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life” and I’m excited to get to show a fun, light side to our partnership. We’ve been able to do these really intense or sexy or emotional routines but tonight America will get to see a different side of us.
And I’m also excited for our group dance!
It’s the first time in the show’s history that they are dividing the stars up by gender and I think we have a really strong team.
It’s going to be a really fun opportunity for the girls to be really playful and fun and show off what we can do together. We’ve got some incredibly strong pros and girls so I’m excited to get out there with them.
