The Bachelor star gets a lesson in chemistry

It’s not unusual that a former Dancing with the Stars champ would be the one to cheer up Chris Soules after a rough rumba reception.

Last week, DWTS alum and judge Julianne Hough criticized Soules and his partner Witney Carson‘s performance, saying, “What is missing is a little connection between the both of you.”

In an exclusive sneak preview of Monday’s episode, Alfonso Ribeiro – whose connection with Carson scored him season 19’s mirror ball trophy – stops by rehearsal to give Soules some tips.

“It’s not really about the technique,” says Ribeiro, 43. “It’s the fun that’s missing from you guys.”

By the end of the clip, however, the mood has definitely lightened, and the dance studio is full of laughter thanks to their surprise mentor.

“You’re like a little ray of sunshine,” Soules, 33, tells the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star.

Speaking of things that shine, we have to wonder if Ribeiro will lend the Bachelor star any of his signature outrageously bedazzled outfits for Soules’s next routine. Here’s hoping!

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
