Bristol Palin Defends Her Decision to Do Reality TV
"[People] are going to talk about me," she says, "so I might as well just have fun with it"
Sarah Palin is known for being a politician, but her daughter Bristol is okay with being simply a reality TV personality.
“You’re going to talk about me if I’m in my little life in Alaska or if I’m in L.A., so I might as well just have fun with it,” Bristol, 21, told reporters on Friday during the Television Critics Association summer tour in Beverly Hills, right after it was announced that she’d be on the all-star season of Dancing with the Stars.
“I just think that God provides opportunities like this, and you can either go out and do them or not do them.”
Showing off her new look, the young mother also explained that reality TV helps her make a living.
“Do I like to provide for my son?” she said. “Yes, I do.”
Even though her own show, Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp, tanked in ratings, she’s hoping this next venture will go more smoothly.
“I’m not whining, I’m not complaining,” she says. “I’m going to go out there and have fun.”
